  • Biography
    Cheri DeClercq is a strategic, results-based leader with over 15 years of leadership success in higher education. Driven by a passion to help others reach their full potential, she is known for her collaborative leadership and ability to achieve goals. 

    DeClercq joined Michigan State University's Broad College of Business in 2008, working with the Weekend/Executive MBA program. She was instrumental in evolving and expanding the program, and this success led to broader leadership roles within the college. She currently serves as a member of the Dean's team, focusing on MBA/MS programs, Marketing, and the Broad Strategic Initiative on Culture/Climate (DEI). Externally, she consistently contributes to the graduate management education industry through board service and thought leadership. Her teaching experience is in the areas of global business and strategy.

    Prior to coming to MSU, DeClercq was responsible for marketing and enrollment management at Central Michigan University's Off-Campus Programs - a system of over 60 locations worldwide and online, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs for working professionals. Previous roles have leveraged her expertise in marketing and adult learners to implement revenue-generating initiatives at Grand Valley State University and Kirtland Community College.

    DeClercq earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University's Broad College in 1989, her master's in Leadership from Central Michigan University in 2002 and her Ph.D. in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education with a cognate in Strategy from Michigan State in 2015. She enjoys spending time with family, travel, and a good glass of wine.
