With the 2023–24 academic year underway, the Broad College is excited to introduce seven new full-time faculty members who have joined our esteemed departments in finance, management, marketing and supply chain management and the School of Hospitality Business.
Stanislav Sokolinski joins the Department of Finance as an assistant professor. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in economics from Hebrew University. Before joining academia, Sokolinski served as an advisor to the director general of the Israeli Ministry of Finance, contributing to capital market reforms in Israel. His research portfolio encompasses various facets of nonbank financial intermediation and asset management, with a primary focus on institutional investors, financial advisory services, and the evolving landscape of fintech wealth management.
Adam Roy enters the School of Hospitality Business in an endowed position, serving as the Dr. Lewis J. & Mrs. Ruth E. Minor Chef-Professor of Culinary Management. Roy received his executive master’s degree in hospitality management and is a Certified Hospitality Educator and Certified Executive Chef. He has held top management positions in five-star hotels and resorts across various countries, including China, Malaysia, Oman and Thailand. His hands-on teaching style, combined with his real-world industry knowledge, will provide our students with valuable insights and prepare them for successful careers in the hospitality industry.
Dylan Boynton joins the Department of Management as an assistant professor. Boynton completed a postdoc at the University of Illinois after receiving his Ph.D. in management and organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. His research lies at the intersection of behavioral strategy and organizational theory, with a particular interest in the role of managerial attention in shaping the interpretation of firm resources and environments, and how this impacts strategic decisions and value creation.
Sherry He joins the Department of Marketing as an assistant professor. She earned a Ph.D. from Anderson School of Management at UCLA and earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and statistics from the University of Michigan. Her research interests are in quantitative marketing and empirical industrial organization, with a substantive focus on economics of digitization, user-generated content and platform policy.
Jordan Barker joins the Department of Supply Chain Management as an assistant professor after two years at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received a Ph.D. in supply chain management from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and obtained his MBA and bachelor’s degrees from Missouri State University. His research primarily focuses on the strategic management of supply chain relationships to complement firm-level strategic and operational targets.
Anne Dohmen joins the department as an assistant professor. Dohmen received her Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in addition to her master’s degree in agricultural and biosystems engineering from Iowa State University and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and systems engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. Her industry experience includes working for large companies such as Procter & Gamble and General Mills. Dohmen’s research explores how firms can use supply chain planning to improve performance.
Chandrasekhar (Chandu) Manchiraju also joins the department as an assistant professor. Manchiraju earned a Ph.D. in operations management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas and an integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His research interests include pricing and revenue management with a focus on developing efficient algorithms for multiproduct dynamic pricing problems that are inspired by practice. He also works on studying flight delays in airline operations using empirical methods.
