Congratulations on your decision to join MSU’s Broad Executive MBA. We are pleased to welcome you to the program and look forward to working with you. This Admitted Student Portal offers a comprehensive set of materials to get you started. We’ve outlined each step on this page to make your transition into the EMBA program as seamless as possible.
Step 1
Get Started: From Your Admission
- Establish, set up preferences and verify that your MSU email is working properly
- Secure funding for your Executive MBA – apply for financial aid if appropriate
- Join the Michigan State University Broad Executive MBA group on LinkedIn and begin connecting with fellow students and alumni
- Follow the Executive MBA Twitter (@MSUExecutiveMBA) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/MSUExecutiveMBA) channels
- Consider optional reading: Wall Street Journal, the Economist, current business books
- Mark June 15–16 on your calendar for orientation at the Henry Center in East Lansing
- Begin work on academic prep modules
Step 2
Pre-Orientation Requirements: By June 15
- Complete personal profile survey
- Complete Executive MBA participant authorization and release form
- View teamwork welcome letter
- Complete and submit team assignment (due by June 8)
- Ensure that your laptop computer meets the minimum requirements for the program
- If you’re using a corporate computer, check with your IT team regarding firewall issues and administrator rights
Step 3
Orientation: June 15-16 (Required for all incoming students)
Orientation timing, accommodations and other details provided in mid-May
- Meet fellow classmates and learn how to maximize and navigate the Executive MBA experience
- Receive syllabi and course materials for the residency courses
- Hear from select faculty who will introduce their courses, discuss expectations and recommend strategies for academic preparation
- Hear from current/former Executive MBA students who will provide insight and advice for program success
- Establish team ground rules, procedures and protocols
- Have your MSU student ID photo taken
- Forward MSU email to your preferred email
- Leave with new contacts, energized and ready to succeed in the Executive MBA
Step 4
Pre-Residency: By August 4
- Set up D2L (Desire2Learn) preferences and upload photo (head and shoulders shot only)
- Complete EMBA first residency academic preparation
- Review the above checklist and make sure you have completed all required work
- Get plenty of rest and be prepared to immerse yourself in the Executive MBA
