Cheri DeClercq is a strategic, results-based leader with over 15 years of leadership success in higher education. Driven by a passion to help others reach their full potential, she is known for her positive, energetic approach that builds collaboration, improves cultures and achieves goals.
DeClercq came to Michigan State University's Executive MBA in 2008, and has been instrumental in evolving and expanding the program. Success in that role led to an expanded set of responsibilities, and she currently serves as both Assistant Dean of MBA Programs and Interim Director of Marketing & Communications for the Broad College.
Prior to coming to MSU, DeClercq was responsible for marketing and enrollment management at Central Michigan University's Off-Campus Programs - a system of over 60 locations worldwide and online, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs for working professionals. Previous roles have leveraged her expertise in marketing and adult learners to implement revenue-generating initiatives at Grand Valley State University and Kirtland Community College.
DeClercq earned her bachelors degree from Michigan State University's Broad College in 1989, her masters in Leadership from Central Michigan University in 2002 and her Ph.D. in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education with a cognate in Strategy from Michigan State in 2015. She enjoys spending time with family, travel, and a good glass of wine.
