Reaching Out MBA
Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA) is an organization whose mission is to increase the influence of the LGBTQIA+ community in business by educating, inspiring, and connecting MBA students and alumni.
ROMBA holds an annual conference for MBA students from across the country to network with fellow students and employers looking to recruit talent for their companies. As a member school, the Broad College provides professional development, peer connection, and career prep.
Broad’s Full-Time and STEM MBA Program is proud to be a sponsor school of the ROMBA organization. As such, we are pleased to offer fellowships to MBA students in service of advancing the LGBTQIA+ community in the business world (open to all full-time MBA applicants). All ROMBA fellows at MSU are chosen at the time of admission and are guaranteed for two years.
ROMBA Fellowship
Students who qualify to be a ROMBA Fellow receive the following benefits:
- Participation in the ROMBA leadership conference, featuring programming exclusively for ROMBA fellows around the country.
- Help the Admissions Team identify future candidates for the fellowship.
- Access to exclusive mentorship and leadership programming.
- Monetary scholarship – minimum of $10,000 per year.
- Free admission for all Reaching Out events.
- A fellows resume and profile book for top corporate ROMBA partners.
- Assistance with job/internship placement.
- Priority consideration for organizing committee leadership opportunities.
- A fellowship retreat for incoming Fellows, with lodging provided and travel stipends available.
- Leadership/professional development.
- Profiles highlighted on website and social media.
- Serve as an LGBTQIA+ ambassador to the community on campus.

Spartan Pride
Spartan Pride is a student resource group that builds relationships between the Eli Broad College of Business student populations, faculty, staff, alumni, and corporations that are focused on LGBTQIA+ awareness. Furthermore, we provide professional networking opportunities, promote a safe and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff, and facilitate professional development focused on representation of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Business.
As the first and only LGBTQIA+ organization in the Broad College of Business, Spartan Pride is focused on the support and development of both undergraduate and graduate students.
