The Broad MBA Program strives to have a global perspective in the classroom. International students need to take several steps to begin the process of applying for a visa.
To access information technology resources while in the Broad Full-Time MBA program, you will have to do some technology setup. To start the process, complete the steps below:
Throughout your studies, you will be using email and the Internet for course assignments, research and communication. As a Michigan State University graduate student, you are given a free email account and access to the Internet.
We have found that email is the most efficient means of communication between students and the MBA program office. The MSU email account identifies you as an MSU student and provides a single platform for these services. The university and the Full-Time MBA pogram office will only use the MSU email account to communicate with you. Your email account will also be used to sign you up for our web-based enterprise course management system.
If you have not already registered your email account at MSU, then please do so by following the instructions at this Academic Computing and Networking Services website. You will need your MSU student ID number and Personal Access Number (PAN) to set up your account (see Central Admissions Letter for these numbers).
You will need a laptop computer for the MBA program that meets program specifications. Please contact our technical support group if you cannot meet the minimum operating system requirements.
If you need to purchase a laptop, it is recommended that it meet the specifications at the above link. You can purchase a laptop from any qualified supplier or from the MSU Tech Store. You can also get an educational discount on the Dell website. You will need your MSU student number (or PID) for most educational discounts.
August 2025 – more details to come
Your deposit deadline can be viewed by visiting your application account. Please note – not all students will have the same deposit deadline.
This year the deposit to secure your seat in the Broad Full-Time MBA program is $1,500. You can deposit using your credit card.
You will need to contact the MBA Office and request an extension. Please note – an extension cannot be guaranteed.
All applicants to the Broad MBA program are considered automatically for scholarships and graduate assistantships. No extra paperwork is needed.
Your scholarship award will be sent to you in writing within 2 weeks of you receiving your admission decision.
Broad MBAs can be awarded scholarship cash awards, graduate assistantships, Non-Resident Tuition Waivers, Forte or ROMBA fellowships, or a combination.
The scholarship process is highly competitive for all students, domestic and international. Consequently, all standing graduate assistantships are awarded by the admissions committee through the formal admissions process.
If you choose to lead a self-directed GA search, we offer the following advice: get to know the department chair in your area of concentration as well as the professors. As faculty members come to know you and your abilities, there is a greater likelihood that they will think of you first when unannounced GA opportunities become available. Additionally, we encourage you to pursue any GA opportunities available outside of the Broad College of Business; they usually require some searching, but if found, are worth the effort.
Please remember that you are representing the MBA program. It is important to remember that the educational structure in the U.S. holds a great deal of respect for faculty members. Keep in mind that you are entering into a process that requires skilled negotiation, respect and tact.

It usually takes around 10-15 days from receipt of your financial statement. Your I-20 will now be emailed to you from Office of International Students. You will then click on the link in that email, download and print your I-20. Your official admit letter from MSU will be sent to you via UPS.
